ESSAY
4)"My Journey To the West"

I first came to into this world on March 14, 1987. I was born in a hospital located in the capital of Taiwan, Taipei. Taiwan is a very busy and hot island. However, Taiwan is also where both my parents were born and raised in. I like living in Taipei- the place where I was born, but that was not where I ended up growing.

My family moved to Los Angeles when I was two- soon after my brother's birth. My parents' success in the family business made it possible for us to move the whole family to Los Angeles. My parents thought we (the children) would have a better future in today's dominant country.

I was six years old when my parents decided it was time for our family to move on again. They were finally fed up with all the crimes and darkness of L.A. They wanted to move to quiet place before my brother and I began elementary. So away we went to Canada- the State's brother country. It didn't take too long for my parents to decide that Surrey would be our next home for a couple of years. Surrey was still a town when we first moved in- but it didn't remain as one for much longer. Later on, during the same year of my family's settlement, Surrey was declared a "city" from it rapidly increasing population.

My family hasn't moved since then. My parent's had attempted on going back to Taiwan or Los Angeles a few years back, but we all refused. Surrey has become our home, and we are happy here. I have learned and went through a lot living in Canada. It's massive land, gave me the opportunity to pick up inline skating, which later on became my favorite and best sport. I feel like I'm soaring across the land like a bird with wings whenever I blade. It always helps me take off pressure and calm my emotions. As time went by, I have grown and changed with Surrey- both physically and mentally. As I got older, I became more knowledgeable and found more things that I like to do, giving me more opportunities in life. I'm glade that my family chose to live in Canada, and I am proud to say that I've done well here. I have accomplished much, and I'm always searching for more quests to complete ¡V lessons to be taken. I take great pride of what I've become.

Thanks Mom and Dad.
